Julene’s areas of expertise include global education, technology integration, digital media projects, challenge based learning, 21st century skills for education, laptop initiatives, mobile media devices in education (i.e., iPods and iPads), technology planning, interdisciplinary education, innovation, coding in the curriculum, Google Apps for Education, web 2.0 tools, and more.
Julene has traveled globally through her work as an Advisory Council member of Dr. Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and Polar Bears International. She is the Director of PBI’s Tundra Connections program, and she travels to Churchill, Canada annually to observe polar bears in the wild and conducts live educational videoconferences and webcasts with scientists. Her passion to make a difference in the world through education and technology are clearly evident in her work.
Julene’s expertise and experience as a presenter along with her enthusiastic, energetic, and interactive approach to professional development provide meaningful, motivating, and engaging opportunities for educators of all levels and disciplines. As a consultant, keynote speaker, and workshop presenter, she has led professional development sessions internationally through conferences, webinars, and independent consulting work.
